Notes:
He appears in the Muster Rolls of free settlers. Possibly the first entry for
him is that of 1712, although the name there is Joan Pieter Boeijns, where
he appears with other single men. From 1713 to 1717 he appears as a single
man, in 1713 as Joan Booijen, after that as Pieter Booijens, his name always
appearing in the lists after that of Pieter Erasmus and his wife Maria Elisabeth
Joosten - Perhaps he was working as a knegt for them. They were closely
associated with the Blom family, and in the 1718 Musters Pieter Booijens and
Geertruij Blom appear together as man and wife, living in Drakenstein.
