3 Risseeuw Family in the Netherlands, Jacques Poissonnier, email communication June 2008 Johannes Egberts Risseeuw (1798-1869). He was a lawyer in Oostburg (Dutch province of Zeeland). One of his sons, Abraham Luteijn Risseeuw (1823-1886) settled in South Africa (Port Natal) in 1859 with his wife Johanna Levina van Dishoeck (1820-?) and children. He left Holland for SA to do farming. In 1869, the year his father died, Abraham Luteijn R. (1823-1886) and his family lived in (at) Sir Lowry's Pass. I mean this is between Somerset-West and Gordon Bay, and in that case far away from Port Natal. I wonder whether he was still a farmer. They had then five children and the sixth child died before moving to SA.
