Pieter du Toit 1 farmer and Heemraad (1744) 2 of Palmieten Valleij, Drakenstein 3 born 1697, Cape of Good Hope 4 baptized 9 March 1697, Drakenstein 5 died 16 May 1768, Drakenstein 6 will dated 24 June 1744 and filed 1 June 1768 7 Notes: Their children given as listed in his wife's will of 1768. Their joint will of 1744 was made and signed on the farm of Andries du Toit situated in the Wagenmakersvallei and in it he stated that his mother was Susanna Soignet. On the 19th March1719, he requested the grant in freehold of a piece of farmland, called 'Palmiten Valleij', occupied for several years by his father, the ex-heemraad Francois du Toit, as a loan farm. His father had given him the house and farm buildings which had been built on it and he therefore requested the grant of the land, His requested was granted subject to ratification by the Council of Seventeen in Amsterdam. In 1739 he petitioned the Council of Policy saying that times were hard and he would pay his rent after the lawsuit. In 1767 he petioned stating that he was the second lieutenant of the Stellenbosch Infantry, but he was growing old and beginning to suffer from bodily infirmity. He therefore asks for his discharge.
