Notes: As both John Sturley and William Sturley are described as
brothers-in-law of Nathaniel Kirby, I have assumed that this
Judith Sturley, Kirby's second wife, is the same Judith Sturley
baptised in 1703 at Moreton on the Hill.

and proved 9 March 1784

Notes: Nathaniel Kirby, mayor of Castle Rising was born circa 1718 or
1719 calculated from his age at death inscribed on his gravestone
found in Castle Rising churchyard by Prof. Fred Cooke.

The Nathaniel Kirby who was born 18 September 1718 in North
Creake was still living in 1746 when his father left him a property
in Syderstone and made him executor of his will.

When applying for a marriage licence in 1746 he was named as
Nathaniel Kirby of Cistern (Syderstone, in the past, I understand,
pronounced Sistern].
